Formal Recruitment

FAQs and Timeline

  • What is formal Recruitment?

Formal Recruitment is an opportunity to meet members of every Panhellenic chapter at GW. You will have the chance to speak to multiple members from every chapter, with longer and more in-depth conversations each day, allowing you to find the chapter you feel most at home with as the days go on.

  • Why should I go through formal Recruitment?

Formal Recruitment is not only a way to meet the chapter you may one day call home, but a chance to connect with fellow PNMs (Potential New Members) that may end up being some of your closest friends!

Beyond meeting new people, you will be able to learn more about what makes each chapter so unique. You will get an in depth look and be able to ask questions about each chapter's philanthropic efforts, values, and the sisterhood that brings everyone together.

  • I'm on the fence about Recruitment - what now?

Reach out to the Recruitment Team! We are so passionate about the chance to bring new members into the Panhellenic community, and we would love to talk through all of the thoughts and questions you may have. Don't hesitate to text or email, we are so excited to get to know you!

  • What is a Pi Rho Chi and why will I have them during Recruitment?

A Pi Rho Chi is your guide and main point of contact as you go through Recruitment. They will be providing you with your daily schedules, outfit information, and any emotional support you may need throughout the process. Any questions you have during Recruitment can be answered by them! You will not know their chapter affiliation until Bid Day, when they will run home to their chapters just like you!

  • When do I need to be back on campus?

You will need to be back in D.C. prior to PNM orientation at 2:00 on January 5th. We highly recommend you return by January 4th at the latest to account for any potential travel mishaps. You MUST request early Spring arrival through CLRE to be able to enter your dorm during this time period.

  • How do I register for Formal Recruitment?

You can register for Formal Recruitment beginning on October 18th using this link:
