The English Graduate Student Organization (EGSA)
- represents graduate students' interests on department faculty committees and, more generally, provides graduate students with a collective voice in departmental affairs;
- organizes the department's annual symposium in Spring that offers students from within and outside the English department and GW a platform to showcase their research and engage in intellectual conversations;
- works with graduate students from other departments in sponsoring and coordinating interdisciplinary activities for the professional development of its members;
- sponsors various social events that foster a sense of community for its members, along with providing newer students with access to important resources.
